Local Gutter Solutionists

Gutter work for Pittsburg’s older neighborhoods and its newer hillside subdivisions

Pittsburg has the largest concentration of detached owner-occupied homes in our territory, and it splits into two eras. Around Old Town, the Marina and the flats north of Highway 4 you find 1940s through 1970s homes with low-pitch composition roofs, shallow wood fascia and, very often, the original sectional gutter, with seams that have leaked for years and fascia gone soft behind them. South of the freeway, toward Kirker Pass and Bailey Road, the stock is 1990s and newer tract with tile roofs, longer eaves and builder-grade gutter sized for the plan, not the rain. Add Delta wind, summer heat that bakes sealant, and street trees like Modesto ash, mulberry and London plane, and gutters here work hard.

We form seamless aluminum, copper and bonderized steel gutter on site and cut it to your roofline, so there are no seams to fail. We hand clean rather than blow debris across the roof, repair sagging hangers and soft fascia, and install BroGuard non-combustible metal micro-mesh where the tree load makes cleaning a chore. Licensed and insured, locally owned in the East Bay, and backed by a franchise system founded in 1999 with more than 25 years behind it.

Why the Brothers

Why Pittsburg Homeowners Call the Brothers

01We know both halves of Pittsburg

A 1955 house off Railroad Avenue and a 2005 two-story off Kirker Pass fail in different ways. We measure each one on site before we quote anything.

02Fascia gets fixed, not covered

On older Pittsburg homes the wood behind the gutter is often the real problem. We replace soft fascia before hanging new gutter, so the new system has something solid to hold onto.

03Sized for the roof, not the plan

Newer tract homes here often have one downspout on a long run. We add outlets and size the trough to the actual roof area so it drains in a real storm.

04Solutionists, not salespeople

You get a straight answer on whether it is a repair or a replacement, and a free quote with no pressure. Every review we get is published, positive or negative.

“I had leaking gutters that needed sealing. The Brothers sent out a person to do a quote. The person was well knowledged about gutters. I was already thinking of putting in gutter guards and they proposed a guard that would work with my current gutters… The two installers were friendly and explained everything clearly.”

Pittsburg Gutter Questions, Answered

My 1960s Pittsburg house still has the original gutters. Do they need replacing?

Probably. Sectional galvanized gutter from that era was good for twenty to thirty years, and the seams and end caps are usually where it gives up. If the seams drip, the hangers have pulled loose or the fascia is soft, replacement with seamless aluminum is the honest answer. If the runs are sound and only one section is failing, we will tell you that too.

Does the Delta wind in Pittsburg affect what gutter I should install?

It affects how we hang it more than what you buy. Wind off Suisun Bay works spike-and-ferrule hangers loose over time, so we use hidden hangers screwed into solid fascia at close spacing. Wind also blows dust and grit into gutters through the dry months, so outlets need to be clear before the first November storm.

The gutters on my newer two-story home near Kirker Pass overflow at one corner. Why?

Almost always too few downspouts. Builders often put one outlet at the end of a long run, so the trough fills faster than it drains and spills at the low corner. Adding a second downspout, or moving to a six inch gutter on the largest roof planes, usually solves it without replacing the whole system.

How often should gutters be cleaned in Pittsburg?

Once a year is enough for most homes here, ideally in late fall after the ash and mulberry trees drop and before the winter storms. Homes under mature street trees in the older neighborhoods may need a spring visit as well. If you would rather not think about it, the maintenance program handles the schedule and BroGuard cuts the need down further.

Do you install gutters on homes with tile roofs in Pittsburg?

Yes, and it takes a different approach. Tile overhangs the fascia further than shingle, so the gutter has to be set to catch water coming off the tile edge without trapping it under the first course. We fit the gutter to the tile profile on site and protect the tile while we work, which matters on the newer subdivisions south of Highway 4.
