Castlewood Gutter Solutionists

Gutters for Castlewood’s hillside homes

Castlewood is the unincorporated Alameda County neighborhood just southwest of Pleasanton, on the hillside around The Club at Castlewood along Castlewood Drive and Foothill Road. The club dates to 1924, when a group of civic leaders bought Phoebe Hearst’s Hacienda del Pozo de Verona, an estate built between 1894 and 1898, and turned it into Castlewood Country Club. Members built summer villas on the ridge in the 1920s and 1930s, ranch homes followed on the golf course in the 1950s, and another wave came in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Castlewood County Service Area covers about 0.88 square miles, with two 18-hole courses and over 200 home sites. The Pleasanton 1.8 SSE station, a NOAA gauge about a mile and a half from the club, averages 19.40 inches of rain a year.

The Brothers That Just Do Gutters San Ramon belongs to Mohammad Awadalla and Syed Rizwan, a family team, and our crews reach Castlewood from our base over in Livermore. Every new gutter is formed at the house from aluminum, copper or galvalume, in 5, 6 or 7 inch sizes. We also hand-clean runs and flush downspouts, repair leaks, sags and rotted fascia, install BroGuard stainless micro-mesh, and put in underground drainage so roof water gets carried down and away from the house. Licensed under CSLB #1115646, insured, and rated 4.9 stars on Google.

The club took its name from a remark that the old Hearst estate looked like a castle in the woods, and the trees are still the first thing a gutter here deals with. Hillside homes carry long runs that collect leaves all fall, and on a slope every downspout needs a planned path, because water that spills at a corner cuts into the hill below it. In a big storm the arroyo already runs through the golf course. A handful of parcels still use private septic systems, so roof water has to stay clear of the leach field too.

Why the Brothers

Why Castlewood Homeowners Call the Brothers

01Drainage that respects the slope

We walk the lot with you and decide where each downspout goes: an extension, a splash block or a buried line.

02Careful on narrow roads

Castlewood’s roads are narrow, with no sidewalks or curbs. We plan where the truck parks and set ladders so neighbors can still get by.

03One-piece runs

Long hillside rooflines get seamless gutters formed on our truck at your home, so there are no factory joints to leak halfway along the eave.

04Owners you can call

The franchise is Mohammad Awadalla and Syed Rizwan’s, based in Livermore, a short drive east. Call (925) 905-9555 to reach their local team.

Year-round

Your Castlewood gutter calendar

The yearly gutter plan for Castlewood homes, built around a rainy season that peaks in January and almost disappears from June through September.

  1. Fall · Oct to NovBefore the first storm

Leaves cleared from every run, downspouts flushed and outlets checked, and loose hangers and leaking corners fixed before the rain.

  2. Winter · Dec to MarWet season watch

December through February bring most of the rain. Overflow calls and runs pulled loose by wet debris get handled first.

  3. Spring · Apr to MaySpring clean and mesh

Late leaf and twig drop cleared and BroGuard fitted, so the trough stays empty into fire season.

  4. Summer · Jun to SepReplacement and drainage work

Dry ground and dry roofs make this the best time to replace gutters, repair fascia and trench underground lines.

“I had leaking gutters that needed sealing. The Brothers sent out a person to do a quote. The person was well knowledged about gutters. I was already thinking of putting in gutter guards and they proposed a guard that would work with my current gutters… The two installers were friendly and explained everything clearly.”

Castlewood Gutter Questions, Answered

Castlewood is outside Pleasanton city limits. Does that change anything?

Not for the gutter work itself. Castlewood is unincorporated Alameda County with Pleasanton addresses, so the county handles land use here, not the city. The Castlewood County Service Area maintains most of the private roads, while owners on a few lanes, such as Bunker Lane and Oak Lane, keep up their own. We plan parking and access around those narrow roads before the crew arrives.

Where should the downspouts go on a sloped Castlewood lot?

Away from the foundation and onto ground that can take the water without washing out the slope. We can extend downspouts, add splash blocks, or tie them into underground lines that carry water to a safe outlet. On the few Castlewood parcels that still use a septic system, we keep the discharge well clear of the leach field.

How often should gutters be cleaned in Castlewood?

Plan on two cleanings a year, one in late fall after the leaves come down and one in spring. The Pleasanton 1.8 SSE station averages 19.40 inches of rain a year, and 11.11 inches of that falls from December through February, so a full gutter in January overflows fast. BroGuard micro-mesh keeps most of the leaves out between visits.

Is Castlewood in a fire hazard zone?

Parts of it are. On CAL FIRE’s maps, the clubhouse and the flatter ground around Country Club Circle show as non-wildland, but hillside lots on the west and south sides are mapped High, some under the state map and some under the 2025 local map. Check your address with the Roofline Fire Report below. Metal gutters and BroGuard mesh are a sensible start on a High lot.

Do you serve all of Castlewood and nearby?

Yes. We work throughout Castlewood, from Castlewood Drive and Country Club Circle up to Sky Castle Road and the homes off Foothill Road. Our crews also cover Pleasanton, Ruby Hill, Vintage Hills, Sunol and Livermore. Give us a call at (925) 905-9555 to book.
