Byron Gutter Solutionists

Gutters for a railroad town in East County

Byron is a small unincorporated town in far eastern Contra Costa County, about 5.5 miles southeast of Brentwood and just 33 feet above sea level. It began in 1878 as a station on the San Pablo and Tulare Railroad, and around 1900 it shipped more hay than any other station in California, according to the historical marker on Main Street. Byron Hot Springs, a resort whose hotels ran from 1889 until it closed in 1938, sits 1.5 miles south-southeast of town, and Byron Airport opened two miles south in 1994. Across the 94514 ZIP the median home was built in 1977, and 17.7 percent of homes date to 1939 or earlier. The Tracy Pumping Plant station, a NOAA gauge about six miles southeast, averages 12.37 inches of rain a year.

Our owners, Mohammad Awadalla and Syed Rizwan, run The Brothers That Just Do Gutters San Ramon as a family business, and Byron jobs go out from our base in Livermore, over Vasco Road. We roll-form seamless aluminum, copper and galvalume gutters in 5, 6 and 7 inch sizes in front of your house, hand-clean and flush whatever is already up there, repair leaks, sags and rotted fascia, add BroGuard stainless micro-mesh, and run underground drainage when roof water needs to get farther from the house. California license CSLB #1115646, insured, 4.9 stars on Google.

Byron gets little rain, and most of it comes between November and March, so gutters spend months holding dust and dry debris before the first storm tests them. The town is windy, and the wind carries grit and dry grass off the open land around it onto roofs. Housing runs from farmhouses and older homes near Main Street to houses from the 1980s, the decade with the most homes in the ZIP. The ground is flat, so a downspout that spills at the corner leaves its water sitting against the foundation.

Why the Brothers

Why Byron Homeowners Call the Brothers

01Old houses welcome

On pre-1940 homes we check the fascia before hanging anything, and replace soft wood instead of hiding it behind a new gutter.

02Water off flat ground

We extend downspouts or tie them into underground lines so water leaves the slab and drains where the yard can take it.

03Made on the spot

Each run is formed on our truck in your driveway, so long farmhouse eaves get one piece with no seams in the middle.

04Owners nearby

Mohammad Awadalla and Syed Rizwan own this franchise and work out of Livermore. Call (925) 905-9555 and you get their local team on the phone.

“I had leaking gutters that needed sealing. The Brothers sent out a person to do a quote. The person was well knowledged about gutters. I was already thinking of putting in gutter guards and they proposed a guard that would work with my current gutters… The two installers were friendly and explained everything clearly.”

Byron Gutter Questions, Answered

Do you really come out to Byron?

Yes. Byron is part of our East County coverage along with Brentwood, Discovery Bay and Knightsen, and our crews come out from Livermore over Vasco Road. We work in town and on the rural roads in the 94514 ZIP. Ring (925) 905-9555 for a free written estimate.

Our older Byron house has rotted fascia behind the gutters. Can you fix that?

Yes. Fascia replacement is part of our exterior work. With 17.7 percent of homes in the 94514 ZIP built before 1940, a lot of the wood behind the gutters has soaked up years of overflow. We take down the old gutter, replace the soft boards, then hang a seamless run sized to the roof. You get the fascia and gutter prices separately, in writing.

How often should gutters be cleaned in Byron?

Once a year is enough for most homes, in October or November before the rain starts. The Tracy Pumping Plant station averages 12.37 inches a year, with January the wettest month and almost nothing from June through September, so grit and dry grass sit in the trough for months.

Is Byron in a fire hazard zone?

The town blocks around Main Street are mapped non-wildland on CAL FIRE’s maps, but much of the open land in the 94514 ZIP, including ground along the south edge of town, is mapped High under the state map. Look up your address with the Roofline Fire Report below. BroGuard’s non-combustible mesh keeps dry grass and leaves from collecting at the roof edge.

Do you also serve Discovery Bay, Brentwood and Knightsen?

Yes. Along with Byron, our crews work Discovery Bay, Brentwood, Knightsen, Oakley and Mountain House. If your home is on one of the rural roads off Byron Highway, Camino Diablo or Vasco Road, call (925) 905-9555 and we will confirm it is in our area before anything is booked.
