Glorietta Gutter Solutionists

Gutters for Glorietta’s mid-century homes on the hill

Glorietta was once its own unincorporated community and is now part of the City of Orinda, a neighborhood of homes along Glorietta Boulevard with Glorietta Elementary on Martha Road at its center. Its homes are mostly from the middle of the last century: in the two census tracts that cover Glorietta, 66 percent of homes were built from 1940 through 1969, the median year built is 1960 in one and 1961 in the other, and 97 percent are detached houses. The Lafayette 1.9 WSW station, a NOAA gauge about a mile and a quarter northeast of the school, averages 26.75 inches of rain a year.

The Brothers That Just Do Gutters San Ramon is owned by Mohammad Awadalla and Syed Rizwan as a family team, and our crews come through the Lamorinda hills to Glorietta from our base in Livermore. We roll seamless gutters right at the house from aluminum, copper or galvalume, choosing 5, 6 or 7 inch sizes for the roof, clean the runs and flush downspouts, repair leaks, sags and rotted fascia, fit BroGuard stainless micro-mesh, and lay underground drainage when water needs a better way off the lot. We carry California license CSLB #1115646 and full insurance, and Google reviewers rate us 4.9 stars.

Glorietta gets more rain than most of our territory, and nearly all of it comes between November and March. On a sloped lot that water has to be steered: a gutter that overflows at a corner cuts into the hillside, and a downspout aimed downhill can end up under the house. The other issue is fire. On CAL FIRE’s 2025 map, streets on the south side of Glorietta, around Orchard Road and lower Glorietta Boulevard, are in a Very High fire hazard severity zone, where a gutter full of dry leaves is a place for embers to land.

I was already thinking of putting in gutter guards and they proposed a guard that would work with my current gutters… The two installers were friendly and explained everything clearly.”

Glorietta Gutter Questions, Answered

Is Glorietta in a fire hazard zone?

Part of it is. On CAL FIRE’s 2025 local responsibility map, streets on the south side, around Orchard Road, Valley Drive and lower Glorietta Boulevard, are mapped Very High, while the streets near Glorietta Elementary and Overhill Road show as non-wildland. The Roofline Fire Report below looks up the zone for your exact address. On a Very High lot, metal gutters with non-combustible BroGuard mesh are a good place to start.

Our Glorietta house is from the 1950s. Are the gutters worth saving?

Sometimes. If a few seams drip or a corner has pulled loose, a repair will hold. If the run sags from end to end, the hangers are loose in soft fascia, or water spills over during storms, seamless replacement makes more sense. Two out of three homes in the Glorietta tracts were built from 1940 through 1969, so we see both cases often. Either way, the written quote shows both options.

How often should gutters be cleaned in Glorietta?

Two to four times a year, depending on the trees around your roof, and the fall cleaning before the rain is the most important. The Lafayette 1.9 WSW station averages 26.75 inches a year, with 15.29 inches from December through February, so a clogged gutter overflows fast. On fire-zone lots, the fall visit also clears the dry leaves that summer leaves behind.

Where should downspouts drain on a hillside Glorietta lot?

Somewhere the slope can take the water without washing out or sending it under the house. We can extend downspouts past the foundation, add splash blocks, or connect them to underground lines that carry water down to a safe outlet. We walk the lot with you first and agree on a spot for each one.

Do you serve all of Glorietta and nearby?

Yes. We work throughout Glorietta, from Glorietta Boulevard and Martha Road to Orchard Road, Overhill Road, Tara Road and Valley Drive. Our crews also cover the rest of Orinda, plus Lafayette, Burton Valley, Happy Valley and Acalanes Ridge. Call (925) 905-9555 to book a free estimate.
