Why the work is steady
The Tri-Valley keeps gutter crews busy from the first leaf drop to the last storm
Every home out here has gutters, and every one of them eventually needs someone who knows what they are doing. That is the whole case for this trade in the East Bay.
Long dry summers fill Tri-Valley gutters with oak leaves and debris. Oak leaves come off the hills and pine needles pack the trough right before the first big systems roll in, and then the winter storms ask every system in San Ramon, Danville, Dublin and Pleasanton to move a lot of water in a hurry. The atmospheric rivers that come through every winter make that very clear, usually at the worst possible moment for the homeowner.
Homeowners who wait until the first big storm all end up calling at the same time. That is why our crews stay busy from the fall cleanups in October and November, through the rainy season, and into the installs that follow. When a run fails, it usually gets replaced with seamless gutters formed on-site in aluminum, copper or bonderized steel, cut to the exact length of the roofline.
The housing stock adds to it. Nearly half the homes in this area predate 1980, and older systems were often never sized for real Bay Area storm loads. Hillside lots near Mount Diablo bring another layer of work, since homeowners there ask about non-combustible metal at the roofline and our fire hardening service. If you want to see why sizing matters so much here, our post on why Tri-Valley storms overwhelm standard gutters lays it out.
Where you will work
The team is based in Livermore and works on homes across the Tri-Valley and East Bay, from San Ramon, Danville, Dublin, Pleasanton and Alamo to Walnut Creek, the Berkeley hills, Tracy and Stockton. One week it is oak-leaf cleanups in Lamorinda, the next it is full seamless installs, so no two weeks look the same. You can see the full map of towns we cover on our service areas page.

Experienced Gutter Installer: run the job start to finish
This one is for pros. We want an installer with at least five years of gutter installation experience who can lead projects on their own, keep the quality high and finish jobs efficiently without someone looking over their shoulder. You will install K-style, seamless, OG and fascia gutter systems, set the slope so the water drains the way it should, run a clean, professional job site and talk with homeowners when it matters. In return you get steady work and a professional environment where skilled installers are valued. The installer role on the careers page has the full list.
Sales Representative / Estimator: Solutionists, not salespeople
We call this role a Solutionist, and the name is earned. Most of your appointments are homeowners who asked us to come out. You inspect the gutters, downspouts and guard systems, measure, price the job on site and present the solution that actually fits the house, often closing on the first visit. There is no high-pressure pitch and no long, drawn-out sales process. A small part of the role is building your own business through referrals, networking and local outreach. Proven people on our sales team earn $150,000 to $250,000 or more a year.
Business Development: grow the network that sends us work
Our best jobs come from people who already trust us. This role builds those relationships across the Tri-Valley and East Bay: referral partners, local businesses, community groups and the networking events where homeowners and property managers meet the companies they hire. You will build and manage referral partner relationships, represent the company at networking and community events and support local marketing and outreach. If you already know half the room at every chamber mixer, this is your seat.
A day on the crew
What an install day actually looks like
No mystery and no surprises. This is the rhythm of a day on a Tri-Valley install crew, from loading the truck to the final walk with the homeowner.
- Load up and roll out.Check the day’s jobs, load the truck and head out to homes across the Tri-Valley and East Bay.
- Meet the homeowner.A handshake with the homeowner before the work starts, so everyone knows who is on the property and why.
- Set the ladders.Ladders go up carefully around the house before anyone climbs, set for the run you are about to hang.
- Form it right there.Seamless gutters come off the machine on the truck, cut to the exact length of the roofline, so there are no factory seams to leak.
- Hang it straight and tight.Set the pitch so the water goes where it should, then seal, guard and test the system.
- Leave it better.Walk the job with the homeowner and leave every property cleaner than you found it.
The Solutionist’s day
The sales seat runs on appointments that homeowners booked themselves. You show up at the time you said, inspect the gutters, downspouts and guards, measure, and price the job on site. Sometimes the right answer is a repair, sometimes it is a full seamless replacement, sometimes it is BroGuard stainless micro-mesh to stop the oak leaves and needles. You present what the house actually needs and let the homeowner decide. Because the schedule follows customer appointments, some evenings and weekends come with the job.
Work you can point to
Every run you hang is a home that stays dry for years. After a season or two you will drive past your own work all over the Tri-Valley and East Bay, from Danville and Dublin to hillside homes near Mount Diablo. That is one of the best parts of this trade.
Growth and fit
How you grow here, and who does well
We will only tell you what is true for these openings. Here is the path each role offers and the kind of person who thrives in it.
How you grow
Everyone trains on the Brothers system. You learn how we measure, form, hang and quote, and why we do it that way. Nobody gets thrown on a ladder and left to figure it out. For installers, growth means owning the job: you lead installations from start to finish on your own, and pay runs from $25 to $40 an hour depending on the experience you bring. This location is not posting an entry-level installer opening right now, so the installer path starts at five years of gutter work.
In sales, growth is built into the pay. Commission runs from 5 to 10 percent of job revenue based on experience, top producers earn an end-of-year bonus, and there is no cap on earnings. A small part of the role is building your own business through referrals, networking and local outreach, and proven sales team members earn $150,000 to $250,000 or more a year. In business development, you grow by growing the network itself: every referral partner you bring in keeps the schedule full for the whole crew.
What we look for
- Installers with 5+ years of gutter installation experience who can run a job alone.
- A detail-oriented eye for quality work and a clean job site.
- Salespeople who are confident closing in the home and present professionally.
- People who are self-motivated, coachable and results-driven.
- Relationship builders who follow up without being asked.
- Anyone who can explain what we do in plain language.
- A valid driver’s license, plus reliable transportation for the sales role.
- A work ethic you are proud of. We bring the rest.
What you do not need
- Your own truck or gutter machine. We bring the trucks and the gutter machine.
- A pushy pitch. Most sales appointments are homeowners who asked us to come out.
- Gutter experience for sales or business development. Home services sales experience in roofing, solar, windows or HVAC helps.
- To be a natural salesperson for business development. Being organized and personable matters more.
- To figure it out alone. You learn the Brothers system from people who use it every day.
- A perfect resume. A real person reads every message, so tell us who you are.
The team behind the name
How Mohammad Awadalla and Syed Rizwan run this crew
A locally owned business with a national playbook. The standard the owners set for homeowners is the same standard they hold for the people on the team.
The Brothers That Just Do Gutters San Ramon is owned and operated by Mohammad Awadalla and Syed Rizwan, a local family team based in Livermore that chose the East Bay because they know these homes. The whole crew works to one standard, in the owners’ own words: show up on time, do clean work, and tell you the truth about what your home needs. You can read more about the family on our about page.
Behind the family stands The Brothers That Just Do Gutters, the national brand founded in 1999 by brothers Ken and Ryan Parsons. It calls its people Solutionists, not salespeople, and it has spent more than 25 years doing nothing but gutters. That matters when you are the one walking up to the door. Homeowners already know the name, so you start every appointment with a head start.
What that looks like day to day
- Every review gets published, positive or negative, so good work gets seen.
- A local phone number and a local team. Nobody is routed to another state.
- Honest, written estimates: repair when repair is right, replace when it is not.
- Metal at the roofline, nothing plastic, so you install work you can stand behind.
- Real training on the Brothers system before you are on your own.
- Trucks and the gutter machine provided, so you show up and work.
What homeowners say about the crew
Tri-Valley homeowners rate the team 4.9 stars on Google, and the reviews read like a job description. One homeowner wrote that the installers were “Courteous, Professional and arrived and finished on time.” Another said the crew “called prior to arriving,” asked what was needed, followed through and “left a clean job site.” That is the bar, and it is a bar a good tradesperson is proud to clear.
